lookatyourdrinking.com is a trading style of Tactus International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tactus, one of Holland’s largest addiction treatment providers. Employing over 1000 people in the Netherlands, Tactus has been a pioneer in evidence based online addiction treatment over recent years, and has in fact been involved in addiction treatment for over 100 years.
Does online therapy work?
Yes. You shouldn’t confuse this robust, structured, 16 week clinical programme with simple online counselling. This type of programme is unique in the UK, and is backed up by excellent results achieved in the Netherlands
Designed by experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, and a multi-disciplinary medical team, you can be sure that the programme is safe, effective, evidence based, and outcome driven.
You are assigned your own therapist who will guide you through the 16 week programme providing you with guidance and support to help you regain control of your life. You will also have access to a resource centre, the forum, and chat rooms.
All of the above combine to give you an effective and affordable way to either cut down your consumption (alcohol only) or stop altogether.
The Management Team
Marco Martinez is our Managing Director and was previously Business Development Director for Priory Healthcare. In a previous City based life he worked in asset backed securities and structured finance as a deal maker for Salomons, Skandinaviska Enskilde Banken and Citigroup. In long term recovery himself, Marco brings with him a unique mix of commerciality combined with direct experience of the treatment and recovery process.
Dr David Bremner is our Medical Director and is a consultant psychiatrist specialising in addictions. He has worked as Medical Director in a variety of addiction treatment settings and is currently also the Medical Director of The Seagrave Trust, a charity focusing on "medicine and technology in the treatment of addiction." Dr Bremner also works as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Addictions within a central London NHS Trust.
Dr Louisa Vingoe is Co-Head of Treatment and is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society and has led the creation of the English version of the Tactus programme. She began her career gaining an MSc in Addiction with distinction at the Institute of Psychiatry, London twelve years ago. Following this she worked in the field of addiction research for five years publishing many academic articles on the topic of substance misuse. She has since worked in community mental health, inpatient forensic psychiatry, and residential drug and alcohol treatment services.
Dr Robert Hill is Co-Head of Treatment and is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over twenty years in mental health services and the university sector. For the last ten years he has worked as lead clinician within inpatient drug and alcohol services in London. He has published over sixty articles on various aspects of mental health and substance use. He is currenly co-editing a book ‘Principles and Practice of Groupwork in Addictions’ to be published in 2010.

About our therapists
Therapists at lookatyourdrinking.com come from a variety of disciplines (e.g. psychology, psyhcotherapy, counselling, psychiatry, nursing, social work) but all are fully qualified and experienced. All our therapists hold professional qualifications in therapy or counselling, are registered with UK professional bodies, and work to the highest ethical standards. In addition, they are experienced in the field of addictive behaviours, have received further training in online therapy, undertake regular clinical supervision, and, through continuing professional development, keep up to date with developments in the field.
Each therapist is supervised weekly by his or her own online therapy coach, and weekly multidisciplinary team meetings ensure that all treatment is monitored and measured effectively and safely. Dr Bremner (Medical Director), Dr Vingoe (Chartered Counselling Psychologist), and Dr Hill (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) ensure the effective multidisciplinary care management of each client.
